FIS Ski-Flying World Championships 1986

The FIS Ski-Flying World Ski Championships 1986 took place in Bad Mitterndorf, Austria for the second time. Bad Mitterndorf hosted the championships previously in 1975. It also marked the first time a nation won more than one medal at the same championships with host nation Austria earning gold and silver in the event. For the second and final time in the history of the championships, they were held in consecutive years (FIS Ski-Flying World Championships 1972 and 1973 are the others.). These championships have been held in even-numbered years since this one.
